Essay COmpetition for canadian dermatology residents
DiTiDE hosts an annual contest for dermatology resident students, in which applicants write and submit essays relating to inclusivity, diversity, and equity in dermatology, using their personal experience as reference. Winners are awarded with textbooks as well as publication of their winning entries on derm.city and in The Chronicle of Skin & Allergy.
NOW LIVE: CULTURAL COMPETENCY TOOLKIT FOR HEALTHCARE PRACTITIONERS
DiTiDE will work with stakeholders to create and distribute a simplified, practical “toolkit” for Canadian healthcare practitioners that provides resources and best practices for serving a diverse patient population.
IMAGE BANK OF DIVERSE SKIN TYPES
Skin disorders and diseases are known to present differently across the six Fitzpatrick Scale skin types. However, many teaching and diagnostic clinical image collections depict only Caucasian skin or under-represent more richly pigmented skin types. DiTiDE proposes to establish or support the expansion of an image library of dermatologic conditions as presented across the full range of skin types.
